KARACHI: Rehan-ul-Haque scored a hat-trick to help Credo College win the Naya Nazimabad Sports Gala Season 1 Inter School-College floodlight Football Tournament after they defeated The Lyceum School 3-2 in a thrilling final at the Naya Nazimanad football ground here recentlly.

Rehan, scoring ten goals in the event, scored in the 42nd, 44th and 49th minutes while Danyal scored in the 45th minute and Talal in the 55th minute for the runner-up, the Lyceum School.

Former Captain Pakistan cricket team Sarfraz Ahmed, while addressing on the occasion, congratulated and appreciated to excellent facilities proved by Naya Nazimabad, Sarfraz lauded the efforts of the management Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana for organized such a wonderful sports gala on School and college level.

Prominent businessman Nadeem Omer who is also team owner of Quetta Gladiators, congratulated the team and the officials and said: “We will try our best to play a prectice match of the coming PSL in Naya Naziabad Ground.”

Chairman Arif Habib appreciated the smooth and successful organisation of the event and said that Naya Nazimabad will organize more events at the grass roots level. He thanked his team of officials for working day and night to make the event a success.

Earlier in the boys basketball final, Alfah College beat The City School PAF Chapter 30-20 while in the Girls final, Beaconhouse School beat Highbrow College by 15-10.

In the Grand Prize Distribution ceremony, CEO Naya Nazimabad Sama A Habib, Manager Syed Muhammad Talah and Inter­national footballer Muhammad Saleem Patni distributed the prizes.
