DERA GHAZI KHAN: The local municipal corporation with the collaboration of civil society, students, scouts and dwellers of the city has commenced the ‘clean DG Khan’ drive.

Under the plan, Chief Minister Usman Khan Buzdar has provided machinery along with teams of water and sanitation agencies belonging to different major cities to help out the local municipal corporation.

Talking to Dawn, MC Chief Officer Khan Iqbal Farid told Dawn the public response to the initiative was phenomenal.

He said Additional Commissioner Azfar Zia was steering the campaign.

As part of the first leg of the campaign, volunteers picked garbage from main markets. In its second leg, the volunteers of “Ab Chamkay Ga DGKHAN “ would collect garbage from Sarafa and Rani bazaars.

Talking to Dawn, Commisioner Mudasar Malik said public cooperation meant that the initiative would succeed. He said continuous participation of people of all walks would be appreciable.
