Cricket in Karachi

Published October 10, 2019

THE Pakistan Cricket Board organised one-day international matches between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the metropolis. The last ODI was played on a working day and almost all the roads near National Stadium were closed and traffic diverted to other roads which caused humongous congestion on other through fares.

Traffic congestion during rush hours in Karachi is a perennial matter. However, the situations turn into a nightmare on such occasions and it takes literally hours for commuters to reach their destinations.

I request the PCB to organise matches on a Sunday or public holiday. The Sindh government should also think of shifting the stadium outside the city.
