QUETTA: The Counter-Terrorism Department on Sunday lodged the first information report (FIR) against unidentified terrorists for killing a leader of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).

JUI-F deputy secretary general Maulana Mohammad Hanif Achakzai and two others were killed in a bomb attack in Chaman on Saturday.

Assistant Commissioner of Chaman Yasir Iqbal Dasthi said that the FIR had been lodged by the station house officer of Chaman, while the investigation was in progress. No arrests had, however, been made so far in the case, he said.

After the blast, security had been tightened across the Chaman town and on the Pak-Afghan border, he added.
