LAHORE: A team of the investigation police have reportedly taken into custody three young men in connection with murder of a dancer who was shot at and killed in a ride-sharing vehicle on Aug 11.

The arrest came after the police experts managed to trace the suspects through the calls they made on the cell phone of girl Amina (24), an official said.

He said the police traced the conference call of the suspects including Shiekh Usman and Arslan with the girl with dubious conversation on some monetary matter.

The police later reached to the callers by obtaining record of their respective residences and took them into custody for interrogation.

They were being questioned in connection with the murder case of Amina, the official said adding that it would be premature to say anything about their involvement in the killing of the girl.

On the day of the incident, he said, Amina had booked a ride from Multan Road for Johar Town. She was probably in contact with the suspected attacker on phone.

As she reached near Bund Road, she asked the driver of the cab to stop the car to meet. Later, a young man boarded the car, shot at her and fled the scene along with her cell phone.

Resident of Renala Khurd, the girl breathed her last on the spot. The Islampura police had lodged a murder case against the suspected killer on the complaint of her father, a goldsmith by profession in Chuhng.
