OKARA: An oil tanker driver was injured when a vehicle laden with 40,000 litre fuel overturned on GT Road after its tyre burst at 23/2L village on Thursday night.

Officials of the National Highways & Motorway Police, Rescue 1122 and police cordoned off the oil tanker and shifted driver Ali Ahmed to hospital.

FIRE: A newly-established mobile phone shop at Jamia Muhammadia Chowk caught fire resulting in loss to the shop owner on Thursday night.

Aziz Nasir put the shutters down as usual and at midnight received a call. The caller informed him that his shop had caught fire.

A team of the Rescue 1122 opened the shop and extinguished the fire that destroyed mobile phones and accessories.
