ABBOTTABAD: District nazim Sardar Shabbir Ahmed presented Rs9.916 billion surplus budget in the Abbottabad district council on Saturday.

The budget session was presided over by naib nazim Kamran Gul Advocate. Speaking in the budget session, the nazim said of the total budget, Rs7 billion had been allocated for payment of salaries.

He said Rs975.39 had been allocated for development schemes and Rs108.765 million for education sector.

He said Rs854.907 million had been allocated for non-development expenditure.

WOMEN FOUND DEAD: The bodies of two women were found in Akohra village in the limits of Mangal police station on Friday night.

Police said that the bodies were recovered from bushes and were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital.

The victims were identified as wives of Majid of Taxila. Police registered the case on the complaint of the mother of one of the victims against Majid. Later, police arrested the brother and nephew of Majid, who has escaped the area.
