KARACHI: Rank outsider chestnut horse Lovey Dovey overcame co-favourite pair to make an impressive winning debut in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

Making his first run at the course, the horse from Lahore stormed to two-and-a-half lengths victory over Wash Mallay as his stable-mate and co-favourite Diamond Doll was placed third four lengths behind and a length-and-a-quarter ahead of Petra.

The opening race set an upset trend which, barring an exception, followed in other races of a four-event card as punters suffered.

Making amends, mare Sanobar lowered the colours of favourite Justify galloping to two lengths victory to claim the next race.

Sohrab-e-Bhakkar occupied third place on board beaten by three-quarter-of-a-length while I Gold fall back to fourth with a length-and-a-quarter away.

With hat-trick already under his belt, Sharp Shooter stretched his magnificent run by getting the better of co-favourite Victor by two and a half lengths to land the third race of the day.

Black Smoke and Dash In Queen followed the two in same order.

Five-year-old mare Sweet Victory made it two wins on trot edging favourite Beat The Clock by two lengths to land the days feature event.

WhatsApp fall back to third seven lengths behind while Pari completed the frame further pushed by seven lengths among the quartet.
