RAWALPINDI: One person was killed and another injured when the car they were travelling in was hit by a passenger train at a level crossing in Naseerabad on Tuesday, police said.

The train was travelling from Kohat to Rawalpindi when it hit the car at the Mohri crossing near Tarnol, killing Mohammad Naeem and injuring the other passenger.

The surviving victim sustained multiple injuries and was taken to a private hospital.

Separately, a man was allegedly murdered in the name of ‘honour’ by unidentified individuals in Dhoke Khabba on Tuesday.

The preliminary police report suggests that Tanveer Ahmed married a woman without her parents’ permission. Police said the suspects have not yet been identified by the victim’s family.
