Good news. People of Pakistan must realise they cannot keep importing luxury phones anymore with their country’s economy in such a mess. These imports of Apples should be banned. Both the fruit and the phone. And all other expensive phones too. No phone of more than 20-30000 should be allowed to be sold.

During PTI regime mobile phone is considered as a luxury item and not a necessity. This is why import duty has been levied on air travellers carrying single mobile phone set whether they are Pakistanis or foreign nationals and they are been considered by FBR as traders. With such measures taken by the government it was obvious that import of mobile phones would decrease. There is always a limit for any action but levying of import duty on passengers who are carrying one mobile phone set which is in their personal use are compelled to pay import duty is never heard before. Whatever was never done before in the country is been done now making the life of a common man more difficult, rather than making it easy for him. A common man who has already gone down below the poverty line is also going down below the surviving line simultaneously.

Finally some good steps. Govt should do something about snatched mobiles as well. They should put up official stores only where sale/purchase of "used" mobile are to be traded.

Importing almost 1 billion dollar worth Mobile phones and at the same time rejoicing for getting 1 billion dollars loan from any friendly country.
