SIALKOT: A 60-year-old man, who allegedly crossed the border into India and was shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday, was laid to rest in his native graveyard in village Pandori-Charwah, some 67 kilometres from here.

A large number of people, including Punjab Rangers officials, attended the funeral of Allah Rakha. The officials said that the BSF handed over the body to their counterparts during a meeting held at a post along the Sialkot Working Boundary. Later, the body was handed over to the family for burial.

On Monday, the BSF allegedly shot dead the mentally challenged Allah Rakha, who mistakenly crossed into Indian territory in Ramgarh-Samba district through Charwah sector of the Working Boundary here.

According to Indian media reports, the BSF termed Rakha an intruder and shot him dead for illegally entering Indian territory.
