Jason Roy
England

BORN in the South African city of Durban, Jason Roy is a dashing opening batsman who England firmly believe is one of the reasons why they can finally end their World Cup title drought. When the pugnacious right-hander missed out playing three matches through a calf injury, England struggled. In this World Cup Roy, 28, has been in red-hot form with a strike-rate of 114.04, but being a knockout fixture against the oldest rivals, Roy will be severely tested.

Aaron Finch Australia

MADE permanent captain of Australia’s limited-overs teams in the aftermath of the infamous Cape Town scandal, Aaron Finch has graduated to become a respectable figure. Member of the World Cup-winning squad four years, the Victorian now braces for the biggest test of career as the holders take on England in what’s expected to be an epic last-four clash at Edgbaston today. The 32-year-old Finch has a major role to play upfront as he had done in this competition.
