KARACHI: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested four burglars involved in looting 5.5 kilograms from the jewellery market in Hyderi on June 5.

The SSP (Central) during a press conference said police arrested four burglars; Adeel Manzoor, Waqar Ahmed, Habibur Rehman aka Nadeem Lahori and Sameera Habib, wife of Habibur Rehman. He said some of their accomplices escaped to Lahore. He added that the gang comprised two groups and operated in Lahore and Karachi.

The burglary incident had occurred at a famous jewellery market of the metropolis.

The robbers had entered into one shop and later broke the wall of an adjacent shop in order to loot the valuables. The crime was committed allegedly during the Eid holidays when the market was closed.

The criminals had also cut wiring of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras after entering the shop.
