MULTAN: A man killed his wife and six relatives over a family dispute in the Hasanabad area of Multan on Sunday night.

According to a police spokesman, Ajmal killed his wife, mother-in-law, two sisters-in-law and three of their children.

He said three other family members were critically injured. He said police had arrested Ajmal and his father and started investigation into the gory incident.

Neighbours told the media that the suspect locked six family members in a room and burnt them alive, and killed the seventh relative by opening fire on him.

No further details were immediately available.
