SIALKOT: The three-day annual Chaambliyaal Mela, concluded at village Tulsipur on Saturday.

A large number of people participated in the concluding mass prayers held there at the site along the Sialkot Working Boundary. The site was bedecked with hundreds of colourful balloons (carrying peace messages) by the devotees. They released pigeons in the air there too.

Devotees from Pakistan said they wished a durable peace between the two nuclear neighbours.

They said that the early establishment of peace between the Pakistan and India was the need of the day as well.

COPS BEATEN: Two police teams were beaten up badly by people in the jurisdictions of Satrah police station in Daska on Saturday.

According to the FIR, a police team, led by ASI Muhammad Iqbal, raided a house in village Mianwali Bangla-Satrah and arrested proclaimed offender Abdul Waheed. Soon Shahbaz, Rana Naveed and others attacked the police, beat them up badly and tore their official uniform. They also got freed Waheed from police and fled.

In another incident, 11 people, including women, attacked a police team, led by SI Basharat Ali, near the house of PO Munawar Hussain in village Ratta Bajwa-Satrah, Daska.

The police said people tortured the policemen and also tore their uniform. The Satrah police registered a case against accused with no arrest.
