The girl managed to recognise the two suspects who also belonged to the same village. The victim alleged that both men assaulted her and then left her near the house of one of the suspects. The father of the suspect then took the girl to her home.

Police got conducted a medical examination of the victim after registering a case against the two suspects and the father of one of them.

“We have arrested the father of one of the suspects and raids are being conducted to trace the two men who managed to escape from the village,” SHO Amjad Bhatti told Dawn. He added that both suspects would be arrested soon.

Investigation Officer Khalida Parveen told Dawn that a medical examination report was yet to be issued by the Punjab Forensic Science Agency.

The victim’s brother and father, while talking to Dawn, said they belonged to a poor family. “We appeal to the chief minister and inspector general of police to provide us justice,” they said.
