Nomination papers in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR, July 20: Scores of candidates for the local polls filed nomination papers on Wednesday, the last day for the purpose. The filing of the nomination papers continued till late at night on the directive of the Election Commission. It is learnt that over 2,000 candidates for 107 union councils filed their nomination papers on Wednesday.

The candidates could file objections to papers by Friday (today) while scrutiny would be carried out on Saturday and Sunday.

CONFERENCE: Bahawalpur Range DIG Ghulam Haider Marth while presiding over a police officials’ conference on Wednesday directed the participants to crack down on extremist elements.
