KARACHI: A minor girl and boy were allegedly raped in two separate incidents in a Korangi locality within the remit of the Zaman Town police station, officials said on Sunday.

Zaman Town SHO Babar Hameed said a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Chakra Goth on Saturday. The police have registered an FIR on the complaint of her family.

The officer said that the girl’s medical examination was carried out and doctors confirmed that she had been subjected to criminal assault.

Later, on Sunday evening, area SHO Hameed claimed that one nominated suspect in the rape case of the four-year-old girl was arrested. The suspect was a teenager, added the officer.

Separately, a boy aged around five years was also raped in 48-C Area of Korangi on Saturday.

The police have registered an FIR against one nominated suspect aged around 18 years on a complaint of the family.

The police have arrested the teenage suspect and further investigation is under way.

The officer said that the boy’s medical examination was carried out and doctors confirmed that he had been subjected to sodomy.
