SAHIWAL, July 19: Robbers on Monday night looted cash and valuables in three incidents. Reports said a farmer of Chak 122/9-L was returning home when three dacoits deprived him of his wheat sale proceeds amounting to Rs90,120 and a motorcycle near Chak 118/9-L police post. Near Sattar complex in the city, a journalist was robbed of Rs5,000 and a cell phone. Robbers took away a motorcycle (FSA-1684) from Shahadat Ali after injuring him by firing near Chak 163/A/9-L.

The police have registered the cases under Sections 392, and 394 of the PPC with no arrest or recovery.

ULEMA HELD: The police have arrested three ulema on charges of violating Loudspeakers Act.

Maulana Muhammad Iqbal and Maulana Farman Ali of Chak 21/1 and 28/11-L mosques were found seeking donations for Jehadi outfits.

In Chichawatni the police arrested Hafiz Qasim, an office-bearer of a Jehadi outfit, for allegedly distributing pamphlets spreading hatred against a banned religious party. A case was registered under Section 16-MPO and 295-A PPC.
