ISLAMABAD: The chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has asked National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser to immediately issue the production order for MNA Ali Wazir to enable him to attend the assembly proceedings.

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari made the demand during a meeting of senior party leaders at Zardari House on Tuesday.

According to a handout issued by the party’s central media office, the PPP chairman expressed his “dismay” over the NA speaker not yet issuing the production order for MNA Ali Wazir, who was remanded on Monday by an anti-terrorism court in Bannu and has been in the custody of the Counter-Terrorism Department in connection with clashes near a military check post in North Waziristan tribal district.
