LAHORE: A youth was killed while two others were injured when one of the revellers doing a wheelie opened fire after a brawl near Garhi Shahu early on Sunday.

Police said a group of youngsters doing a wheelie on Durand Road after Sehr were engaged in aerial firing.

They started fighting with each other over a minor issue near Garhi Shahu, police said, adding that one of the suspects, Muraqam, opened fire and injured Osama, Nazeer and Ahsan.

The injured were shifted to the Services Hospital where doctors declared Osama dead while the other two were admitted for treatment.

A police team later registered a murder case against the suspect who fled the scene. Police took suspect’s uncle and brother into custody and started investigation.

A few weeks ago, a video footage had emerged in which a group of bikers was firing in Mustafa Town.

In another incident, a group of wheelie-doers allegedly tortured Dolphin Squad officials on Band Road.

Police launched a crackdown and arrested few suspects who were tortured in the Lytton Road lock-up. The incident ended up in SHO Saifullah Niazi’s suspension over misconduct.
