KARACHI: Neighbour­hood Club and Mumba Squads qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing Mehmood Ahmed Khan Trophy Basketball tournament at Arambagh Basket-ball courts on Tuesday.

In the first quarter-final, Neighbourhood Club overcame a National Basketball Club side 42-35.

Abdullah Shah with 14 points, Ali Ahmed with 13 and Chenway with 10 were the main scorers for the winners while Mohammad Farooq and Mohammad Shabbar scored 10 points each for the losing side.

In the second quarter-final, Mumba Squad beat Licole Bellerz 63-35 in a lop-sided encounter. Saad Abdul Basit was unstoppable in the courts and scored as many as 20 points. Other main contributors to the winners’ team tally were Mohammad Talha and Noman Awan who scored 14 points each.
