NAWABSHAH, July 17: A woman was allegedly killed during a raid conducted by the Hala police in the Santa Singh Village, Nawabshah, on Sunday. One Mukhtiar Ahmed has lodged an FIR against eight policemen of Hala police station, alleging that ASI Abad Khan and seven other officials forced their entry into his house on in the early hours of July 17 and thrashed him up and his family members including women and children while his mother, Sharifan 70, died on the spot due to police torture.

He further stated that police arrested his brother Ikhlaq.

When contacted, the B-section police station ASI Arshad Ali Soomro said that the Hala police raided had the house in their jurisdiction without taking us into confidence.—BoC
