Abid, Noor cruise to title wins

LAHORE: Mohammad Abid and Noor Malik won the men’s and women’s titles of the McDonald’s Junior National Tennis Championships, which concluded here at the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association courts on Tuesday.

Abid brushed aside Heera Ashiq 6-3, 6-3 in a one-sided final lasting just 28 minutes to seize the title.

The women’s decider was dominated by Noor who routed Esha Jawad 6-2, 6-4.

U-10 boys: Abubakar Talha bt Hamza Ali Rizwan 4-2, 4-2

U-12 boys: Haider Ali Rizwan bt Asad 4-1, 4-1

U-14 boys: Mohammad Mahatir bt Shaeel Tahir 7-6(5), 6-2

U-14 boys doubles: Shaeel Tahir-Hamza Jawad bt Ahtesham-Arif 4-2, 3-5, 10-7

U-18 boys: Ahmed Kamil bt Mohammad Huzaifa Khan 7-5, 2-1 -- retired

U-18 boys doubles: Hasheesh Kumar-Osama Khan bt Ahmed Kamil-Ahmed Nael 6-2, 3-6, 10-8

U-18 women final: Zahra Suleman bt Astifila Arif 6-0, 6-2.
