ISLAMABAD: A Chinese national, missing for four days, was found dead on Friday.

Police said Li Ji Ngiang, 29, had arrived in Islamabad on April 13 on a business visa and was scheduled to leave on April 19.

He had come to Pakistan for the first time on the invitation of his uncle, who is doing a wig business in Islamabad. Mr Ngiang stayed at a guest house established by Chinese nationals.

On April 15, he left the guest house to purchase some medicine but did not return.

The matter was reported to Kohsar police on April 17 and the next day the police registered a kidnapping case.

Sub-Inspector Abdul Razzaq told Dawn that during investigation it transpired that the victim had left the rest house without taking his wallet, mobile phone and passport.

The Kohsar police alerted all other police stations in the capital and other districts about his disappearance and also pasted posters in different areas about the missing man.

On Friday, a man called on the telephone number given on the poster and informed the missing man’s uncle that the body of a Chinese man was lying in a nullah at Iqbal Town. The police reached the nullah near Islamabad Expressway and shifted the body to hospital. The SHO said injuries were found on the head of the victim.

The deceased’s uncle told the police that Ngiang was an epilepsy patient. The SHO said an investigation was in progress.
