46 CCTV cameras to be installed in Mastung

QUETTA: Under a programme initiated by the Balochistan government, closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be installed in Mastung city to keep an eye on terrorists and other criminals.

Inspector General of Balochistan Police Mohsin Hassan Butt has launched a safe city project for Mastung. Under the project, which will cost Rs30 million, 46 CCTV cameras will be installed at different locations of the city, including its entry points.

IG Butt said on the occasion that the CCTV cameras would help the police in efficiently monitor the city and foil terror plots.

He stressed the need for a role of local people in improving security situation in the city, adding that without the support of local residents nothing could be achieved in maintaining law and order.

He said the police were making all-out efforts for maintaining peace in the city and protecting the life and property of its people. He warned that stern action would be taken against all those trying to disturb peace in the city.

IG Butt said that police personnel were committed to fulfilling their responsibilities and many of them had sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Quetta DIG and RPO Abdul Razzaq Che­­­ema and Mastung SP Inayatullah Bug­­­ti highlighted the importance of CCTV cameras in monitoring cities and towns.
