LAHORE: The PML-N says the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government has itself absolved its president Shahbaz Sharif of the charges of corruption in the Solid Waste Management project.
“Shahbaz Sharif has been vindicated from yet another false PTI mantra of the Solid Waste Management project corruption charges,” PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a statement here on Wednesday.
She said Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat admitted on the floor of the Punjab Assembly that all allegations of corruption and embezzlement in the SWM project were wrong.
“With this admission by the law minister, another accusation against Shahbaz Sharif, repeated by the PTI at every public meeting and in the media, has proved wrong,” she said, adding this came a day after Shahbaz was “cleared” of corruption allegations in the laptop scheme.
“This also goes to show that the PTI, while advocating an ideology of ‘Sadiq and Ameen’, ran their entire (election) campaign on lies. All these false allegations (are) proving wrong,” she said.
