NEW DELHI: An Ordinance has been promulgated today [March 11] which extends the period of existing policies issued under the War Risks (Factories) Insurance Scheme by one year from April 1, 1944. This applies to all policies issued in respect of properties mentioned in the War Risks (Factories) Insurance Ordinance, that is properties appertaining to factories, above-ground machinery of mines, distribution system etc. of specified gas, electricity and hydro-electric supply undertakings.

The basis of insurable value will remain unaltered, that is, policies will be extended for the sums insured under existing policies on March 31, 1944 ... So far as properties insurable under the War Risks (Inland Vessels) Insurance Ordinance are concerned, the Government of India have decided that ‘fresh’ policies covering a period from April 1, 1944 to March 31, 1945 should be issued.

[Meanwhile, as reported from Lucknow,] interviewed by the Orient Press representative regarding the Palestine question, Begum Eizaz Rasul, Deputy President U.P. Legislative Council said: “The Indian Muslims’… sentiments on the [Palestine issue] are clearly reflected in the resolution passed by the All-India Muslim League, which also contains a warning to the British Government against their taking any action which might be harmful to the Muslims of Palestine.…”
