MINGORA: Education experts have called for adopting modern and professional techniques of imparting education in schools and colleges for better future of the young generation.

They were speaking at a training workshop for teachers titled “teachers contemporary profession and research-based awareness” organised by the Educators school. Schoolteachers from various government and private schools participated in the training.

Prof Nargis Ara elaborated educational leadership and discussed types and traits of leaders by giving examples.

“A good leader has the qualities of leading, influencing, commanding and guiding, and understands how to manage and run an organisation in a successful way,” she said. She said that there were different types of students with different levels of understanding and the teachers must focus on individuals to inspire, motivate and shape students.

Farhana said that education was a never ending process and teachers must continue their professional development to go with the modern tide.

“Teachers must study their students and understand the levels of students’ learning approaches. Teachers should be friendly with their students and should not suppress them during teaching,” she said, adding that teachers should be innovative and reflective.

She said that the teachers should refrain from criticising students and build healthy relationship with them.

Ms Bakhtawar Khan, who worked on health and hygiene, said that it was the responsibility of teachers to teach their students different ways to keep themselves clean and healthy.
