LARKANA: Larkana Commissioner Mohammed Saleem Raza Khuhro on Tuesday inaugurated a book fair at the Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library.

A number of stalls have been set up by various publishing houses and book dealers at the fair, which will continue for a week.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the commissioner expressed his pleasure over holding of the fair where up to 50pc discount was being offered to buyers in order to promote book reading habit and help students get their required books at a low cost.

The fair attracted large crowds on the first day. Book lovers took keen interest in the books put on display by the culture department, Sindhi Language Authority and publishers including Sindhica, Roshani, Nao Niyapo and Lincoln Corner. The books in Sindhi, Urdu and English languages ranged from history, literature, science, culture, fiction and a variety of other subjects.
