KOHAT: A woman and a police constable were injured when two motorcyclists opened fire near the city police station on Friday.

The security guard of the police station, Mohsin Khan, while showing courage overpowered both the attackers. One of the accused was injured during the scuffle.

A woman, Roshna Bibi, was walking by the police station when the attackers opened fire with a 30-bore pistol in which she was injured. Khan Mohammad, gunner of DSP Raza Khan, also got a bullet injury.

Both the injured were shifted to the KDA teaching hospital.

The police registered attempted murder case on the report of the injured woman against the attackers named Faheem Khan and Muqadar Khan.

It may be recalled that the injured woman had reportedly killed her husband named Mohammad Naeem, a medical technician, on the bypass road near Hafizabad last year. Both had family dispute.

But the father of the deceased had nominated her parents in the murder FIR, police said.

The eyewitnesses had reported that she along with another woman was sitting in ambush and started firing at Naeem when he came out on the main road.

The police said the relatives of Naeem tried to kill her on Friday to take revenge of the murder.
