PESHAWAR: The city police have arrested a man on charges of killing two people and mutilating their bodies in the limits of Khazana police station.

A police official told Dawn that the incident took place in Arif Town area. The accused was identified as Mohammad Jan, a resident of Akbarpura, who had recently rented a house in the town.

He said that on Monday night, he took two persons identified as Nisar and Muslim, both residents of Akbarpura, to his rented house, murdered them, mutilated their bodies and dumped them into Shah Alam River.

The official said that the accused used to work with the slain who were property dealers. The accused after murdering the two approached the Khazana police station to register case.

The official said that on suspicion, police interrogated the accused who confessed to killing two persons and dumping their bodies into river.

The official said police recovered body parts from the river, adding that the motive was apparently a monetary dispute.
