ISLAMABAD: An official of a paramilitary force allegedly killed his stepbrother in the rural area of the capital, police said on Thursday.

Investigating officer Inspector Mohammad Aslam said the accused stabbed and then slit the throat of Sarkar Khan, a labourer and escaped. The incident occurred in Rawat where a family from Kurram Agency lived. The accused is an official of Kurram Agency Levies, said the police.

According to the family, the deceased and the accused had a brawl three days ago and again on Thursday.

The reason behind the brawl could not be known.

The police have registered a murder case against the accused in response to a complaint lodged by the deceased’s brother Wali Khan and launched an investigation.
