LAHORE: Lollywood actor Moammar Rana called on PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto here on Sunday and announced joining the party.

The PPP leader was quoted as saying on the occasion that the space for recreation was being gradually restricted in the country as the film industry was facing a crisis.

He said seeing artists troubled by economic woes he had asked the Sindh government to prepare a project for payment of pensions to non-government and private sector employees and making artists a part of the project.

Film star Rana said the PPP was only party that believed in promotion of culture and that the youth, intelligentsia and those with creative thinking considered Bilawal Bhutto as the only ray of hope that could take the country on the path of progress.

Lauding the regular observation of Sindh culture day, he said the artist community would organise a reception for the PPP chairperson when he would again visit Lahore.

Chaudhry Manzoor, Hassan Murtaza, Shazia Abid, Sadaqat Niazi and other PPP leaders were also present on the occasion.
