CHITRAL: Within two years of its establishment, the University of Chitral has launched second research journal on linguistics and literature to provide a forum for scholarly interaction of the researchers in the disciplines of linguistics, literary and cultural studies.

Prof Badshah Munir Bukhari, project director of the university, told Dawn that the journal sought to publish quality research on the contemporary questions in linguistics, literary and cultural studies. It aims to mainstream the explorations of the scholars across the world, he added.

He said the articles were examined and scrutinised as per standard of Higher Education Commission and special measures were taken to check plagiarism.

Mr Bukhari added the ‘Journal of Linguistics and Literature’ was a rigorous peer-reviewed journal bringing diverse research communities together with a common goal of deepening understanding of diverse aspects of literature and linguistics.

Earlier, the university had published its first journal on ‘Religious Studies’ a month ago in which 55 research scholars from the reputed universities of different countries, including the United Kingdom, Holland, Malaysia and Jordan, had contributed their research articles.
