QUETTA: Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, the secretary general of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F), has said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government has failed to deliver in its first 100 days and instead of providing relief to the people has given them price hike and unemployment.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday evening, he said that by adopting wrong polices the government had created a financial crisis.

Soon after coming to power, the PTI government enhanced the gas and electricity rates, which adversely affected the common people, he said.

With the rupee getting devalued tremendously, billions of rupees were added to the country’s foreign loans within a matter of days.

Senator Usman Kakar of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Leader of the Opposition in the Balochistan Assembly Malik Sikandar Khan, vice president of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal Malik Wali Kakar and leaders of other parties were present on the occasion.

Maulana Haideri said the ruling party, which had promised to build five million houses in the country, was instead demolishing the homes of poor people.

He said his party was not against accountability but could not support accountability of one party or one family. “The PTI government is targeting one political party and a family,” he said, adding that political revenge was not acceptable. He claimed that under the existing circumstances, created by the PTI government, the opposition parties could bring about an in-house change in parliament.
