GUJRANWALA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Tuesday sealed four commercial plazas and recovered Rs1m from non-taxpayers and defaulters of commercial building map fee in Narowal.

The body also gave five days to remaining owners of illegal plazas to pay their fee otherwise their buildings would be sealed.

ACE Regional Director Fareed Ahmad told Dawn they had conducted a survey of plazas, markets, marriage halls, schools and colleges, hotels and restaurants that had been constructed after their maps were approved and government fee paid.

After completion of the survey, the ACE learnt that Usman plaza, Zafar plaza, Syed Mudassar plaza and Muhammad Ali Rangan plaza on Narowal bypass were constructed illegally. The ACE sealed these establishments and also recovered Rs1m from building owners who had defaulted on map fee. It gave five days to remaining plaza owners to pay their dues otherwise cases would be registered against them.
