Eid Miladun Nabi celebrated with religious fervour

PESHAWAR: Eid Miladun Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) was celebrated in Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with religious zeal and fervour amid tight security arrangements on Wednesday.

In Peshawar, a number of events of Mehfil-i-Naat and Milad were held while processions were taken out to express love, devotion and respect for the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). A large number of people, including religious scholars, participated in the processions. Seerat conference was also held at the district council hall where religious scholars belonging to different schools of thought, government officials and nazims shared their views about the importance of Eid Milad.

The main procession, in this regard, started from Milad Chowk in the city and after passing through its traditional routes it culminated at Qissa Khwani Bazaar where main Mehfil-i-Milad was held. On this occasion, the religious scholars and leaders delivered speeches and recited Naats to pay homage to Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

A big procession was taken out under Idara Tableeghul Islam where Syed Zahir Ali Shah, Inayat Ali Shah Bacha and other leaders highlighted significance of the day.

Stringent security measures were taken to avoid any untoward incident on the occasion. People were allowed to enter the procession after body research by police personnel deployed at different routes in the city.

People had decorated the traditional routes of processions while the government and private sector offices, markets and streets were also illuminated with colourful lights and buntings. Many of the people had also decorated their houses with colourful lights and green flags to show their love for the Holy Prophet.

In Kohat, the faithful took out processions to observe Eid Miladun Nabi while all businesses were closed to celebrate the occasion.

The main function was held at Milad Chowk in Zargran Bazaar where free lunch was served to thousands of people. Speakers highlighted the Seeratun Nabi and advised the people to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) who taught peace and harmony.

They stressed to practically follow the Quran and Sunnah which offered solution to all problems. The people had decorated the Milad Chowk with lighting.

In Buner, members of Sadaat committee and tehsil municipal administration jointly celebrated Eid Miladun Nabi at Jamia Masjid Pir Baba. Deputy commissioner Shafiullah Khan and MPAs Fakhar Jehan Bacha and Riaz Khan were also present on the occasion where the religious figures advised people to spend their life according to the teachings of Quran and Sunnah.

In Lakki Marwat, Eid Miladun Nabi was celebrated with religious fervour where processions were held in Lakki city, Naurang, Tajori and Shahbazkhel.

The area police had made foolproof security arrangements for peaceful observance of the Eid Milad in the district.

In Lakki city, the Milad procession reached the Milad Park after passing through Mela Mandi, Bazaar Meenakhel and other routes. Pir Hafiz Saifuddin Akmal and other religious figures led the procession.
