OKARA: A three-member team of the Punjab Higher Education Commission visited the University of Okara in connection with provision of a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for accreditation with the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The inspection team comprising HEC representative Hakim Ali Talpur, Dr Muhammad Arshad Malik from International Islamic University Islamabad and Dr Tanvir Akbar Kiyani from Comsats University Islamabad inspected along with Okara University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Zakariya Zakar the classrooms, laboratories and libraries, availability of teaching staff and other recreational facilities offered by the university.

The team was told that currently the university offered 10 degree programmes in various disciplines and its syndicate had accorded formal approval to 10 other programmes that would start in spring next year. The administration has already initiated the process of establishing a law school, which will be offering three-year and five-year LLB programmes.

The university focused on providing a healthy learning environment to students with qualified faculty, well-equipped laboratories and co-curricular activities. The HEC representative said that the commission would deliberate on issuing the NOC.
