I AM disgusted at the apathy and spinelessness shown by our government in their reaction to the torture and brutal murder of a serving police officer. Imagine what would have been the response of our neighbours countries if a senior law enforcement officer from their country was tortured to death on Pakistani soil.

The only protestation is on the delay in handing over the body.

No one seems to highlight the role of our neighbours in allowing their territory to be used by killers.

Excuse my cynicism but I sincerely hope that the protest was not really about inconvenience caused to our minister.

IT IS sad and beyond my understanding how a serving SP could get kidnapped from the federal capital and taken to Afghanistan undetected. The federal capital is a place where civil and military law enforcement officers are found in every nook and corner.

With the safe city project up and running for more than a year, with checkposts at entrances and exits, how could this be missed?

Security agencies need to note that there are still certain groups that can operate as they please. It is imperative that those behind this incident should be caught and punished.
