MIANWALI, June 21: Local education department has appointed teachers on various posts in violation of relevant rules and regulations. It has also been learnt that some influential male teachers have been appointed by the department against the posts supposed to be occupied by female teachers.

A grade-16 secondary school teacher, Mr Mian Kamran, is said to be working on three posts at a time beyond his scale. He is working as AEO (male) at Kundian in his own grade, besides occupying the posts of deputy DEO male and female, which are grade-18 positions.

Similarly, a grade-17 teacher has been appointed principal of the Comprehensive High school, which is a grade-20 post.

In this situation, eligible and competent teachers are being ignored.

Another SST teacher Mr Khurshid has been appointed as deputy DEO (female) at Isakhel. He is also working as deputy DEO, Secondary education.

Female teachers in the district have been finding it difficult to work under male officials, but their complaints in this regard are ignored by the department high-ups.
