Solar lights

Published November 14, 2018

STREETLIGHTS of many rural and urban areas of Sindh have not been functioning properly for the last three months. Thirty per cent are out of order, while 70pc are closed in the early hours.

The Sindh Rural Development Department had assigned an engineering company to maintain and repair solar lights for three years. The company has stopped performing its duty. It said it was not being paid for maintenance.

Local district administration is not interested in solar lights’ maintenance and repair. The residents Naushahro Feroze are worried because Sindh chief minister’s complaint cell is not responding.

The Sindh chief secretary and the authorities concerned should look into the matter and take action.
