TAXILA: The third National Ranking Tennis Tournament started at the Pakistan Ordnance Factories tennis court in Wah on Monday.

On the opening day, Abid Ali Akbar, Jibran-ul-Haq, Huzaifa Abdul Rehman, Parbat Kumar, Shaheen Mehmood, Rashid Khan, Gul Zaman and Subhan bin Salik won their first-round matches in the men’s singles category to qualify for the main round.

Matches in men’s singles, boys U-18, boys U-14, boys U-10 and girls U-10 categories were held on Monday.

The tournament featuring players from across the country is being organised by the Pakistan Tennis Federation in collaboration with the Pakistan Ordnance Factories sports control board.

The finals of different categories will be played on Nov 2.
