PESHAWAR: Insaf Doctors’ Forum (IDF) has formed a core committee to ensure implementation of the health policy of the Pakistan Tehreek-i- Insaf government.

The committee would hold at least one meeting every three months wherein itwould formulate suggestions and send recommendations to PTI leadership regarding enforcement of its reform programme in health sector, according to a press release issued here on Sunday.

The committee to work under the forum’s central president Dr Jawad Wasif would also be responsible for making plan regarding meetings with the party leadership and expediting work on better patient care in the provinces as well as at the centre.

The committee has been tasked with preparing a report on immediate basis regarding the prevalent healthcare scenario and proposals to bring in changes to improve the situation.

The committee comprises the IDF’s central secretary general Dr Saeed Mustafa, Dr Tariq Babar, Dr Jawad Mohammad, Dr Mudir Khan, Dr Kamran Durrani, Dr Rehman Durrani along with presidents and general secretaries of the districts. It will hold meetings with doctors, paramedics and other members of the hospitals’ staff to discuss their problems and propose solutions to the government.

The committee will also receive suggestions from the health experts to introduce much-needed reforms and provide better healthcare to the people.

Along with improvement in tertiary care services, it would also find ways to provide better services to patients at the primary and secondary level facilities.

It would also review the progress on the enforcement of the Medical Teaching Institutions reforms law enacted by the government in 2015 and would forward suggestions to the government to fully implement the legislation.
