CHARSADDA: Pakistan Mazdoor Kisan Party’s central chief SM Altaf has said that they would resist forced eviction of peasants from their homes and land and demanded of the government to open Kisan bank and provide interest-free loans to farmers to bring change in their lives.

He also demanded 20 per cent quota in Senate and other institutions on the pattern of technocrats for farmers of the country.

He was speaking at a function held on Tuesday in connection with the death anniversary of party’s founding chief Fatehyab Ali Khan at Mumtaz Kallay in Shomali Hashtnaghar. The gathering was also addressed by party’s central vice-president Attique Salar, Mumtaz Kaka and others. They paid rich tributes to Fateh Ali Khan for serving the farming community.

They said that struggle for the rights of deprived class of society would continue. The leaders also called for unity among farmers in the country. He said that the landlords had been exploiting the working class. They said that the party would continue to raise voice against highhandedness of this upper class.

IT TEACHERS: About 2,000 contract IT teachers of 2016 and 2017 batches along with 37,000 other NTS contract teachers were regularised by the previous provincial government through an act which was officially notified on January 8, 2018.

However, senior IT teachers of 2014 batch are still awaiting action on the part of education department for regularisation of their services. Sources said that the affected IT teachers had met in the past with Imran Khan three times in Banigala regarding the issue. They said that he had assured them of regularisation of their services.

They have urged the prime minister and KP chief minister to order regulrisation of their services.
