SIALKOT: Two motorcyclists shot at and injured local journalist Saeed Sakhi late on Sunday outside a fast food outlet in Daska city and fled.

According to the first information report, Sakhi was standing outside the fast food outlet, when the gunmen opened fire at him in a drive-by shooting. He was shifted to the Gujranwala Divisional Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition. He suffered five bullets in the chest, legs and ribs.

The Daska City police registered a case under sections 34, 109 and 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code against the unidentified accused.

Sakhi’s son Hamid Raza told police that a local pir was behind the attack, saying that a few days ago, Sakhi had filed a story against the unethical practices of the faith healer.
