KARACHI: The Gulshan-i-Iqbal police on Friday arrested a man and a woman on charges of ‘kidnapping’ an infant from Gulistan-i-Jauhar.

Gulshan SP Ghulam Murtaza Bhutto told Dawn that the police had received information on Madadgar’s 15 number.

Thereafter, the police arrested two suspects Mahjabeen and Mohammad Nadeem and recovered an infant from their custody.

“The child seems to be abducted,” opined the officer, adding that the police were fulfilling legal formalities.

The infant was handed over to the Edhi Foundation.

The police have registered an FIR against the arrested suspects on kidnapping charges on behalf of the state.
