ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman retired Justice Javed Iqbal and the bureau’s prosecutor general Syed Asghar Haider called on Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday.

The meeting between the head of the anti-graft watchdog and the CJP is said to be “unusual” and it is believed that issues relating corruption and under-trial cases of corruption were discussed.

According to an official press release issued by the Supreme Court, the chief justice asked the NAB chief that till the filing of a reference against any individual, NAB should maintain secrecy so that no embarrassment was caused to anyone.

The Supreme Court is monitoring a number of mega corruption cases of top politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen being investigated by NAB.
