KASUR: In a crime surge ahead of Eid on Tuesday, unidentified robbers shot dead a man, injured his son and deprived people of their cash and other valuables at gunpoint in at least nine reported strikes.

Unidentified robbers shot dead a trader while injuring his son on Halla Road in the limits of Pattoki police station.

According to police, trader Amin and his son Azam were present at their beverages godown when three unidentified armed robbers barged in and held them at gunpoint.

While the robbers were snatching cash and mobile phones from them, the father put up resistance. At this, one of the robbers opened fire, leaving both Amin and Azam injured.

The injured were being rushed to Pattoki Tehsil Headquarters Hospital when Amin succumbed to his bullet wounds.

Azam who was brought to the hospital in a critical condition was referred to Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital.

Police entered a case against unidentified robbers and were looking into the matter.

In another incident, four unidentified robbers deprived the manager of a private factory of Rs3.8 million cash meant for salaries of the employees at gunpoint, on Manga Road, in the limits of Kot Radha Kishan police station.

Police said four unidentified robbers intercepted the car carrying Rana Muhammad Mushtaq, manager of Indus Factory. They allegedly snatched Rs3.8m cash from the manager and fled away.

Police are looking into the matter.

Similarly, four robbers deprived Muhammad Israil of Rs150,000 at gunpoint near main bazaar of Kot Radha Kishan and fled.

Police have started investigation.

Separately, two unidentified robbers deprived a farmer, Shabir of Rs40,000 cash near Nandka Takya village in the limits of Sheikhum police station.

In another incident, two unidentified robbers deprived Tanvir Ahmed of Rs80,000 cash and his cell phone at gunpoint near Basti Bhagwandas, in the limits of Khudian police station.

Unidentified thieves took away 65 expensive suits from the shop of tailor Muhammad Omar in Habibabad locality in the limits of Pattoki police station.

Meanwhile, a sacrificial bull worth Rs70,000 was stolen from the outhouse of a farmer, Riasat Ali, in Allahabad locality.
