LAHORE: PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that Imran Khan is the first prime minister who has been elected through the power of the people.

In a statement here on Friday, Shujaat congratulated Imran whom he said had been elected to the office of the premier after “22 years of hard work”.

He said that Imran’s spirit should be valued for serving the people and his pledge to restore the prestige of Pakistan in the world.

Shujaat said he was grateful to Imran Khan for the trust he had reposed in the PML-Q by nominating Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for the office of Punjab Assembly speaker.
